Kathmandu-Marriott International Chairman David S. Marriott arrived in Kathmandu on June 7 for his first-ever visit to Nepal, marking a historic milestone for the country’s luxury hospitality sector as Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global officially signed an agreement for three new luxury hotel projects across Nepal and India.

The signing ceremony, held in Kathmandu, was attended by David S. Marriott and Vinod Chaudhary. The agreement includes the development of The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, The Westin Kathmandu, and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri.

Speaking at the ceremony, Marriott Chairman David S. Marriott described the signing as a major step in the growing partnership between Marriott International and CG Corp Global.

'Today marks a concurrently exciting milestone in the growing relationship between Marriott International and CG Corp Global as we celebrate the signing of three new spectacular hotels across Nepal and India: The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, The Westin Kathmandu, and the JW Marriott Hotel, Siliguri,' said David Marriott.

Marriott emphasized that each new hotel project creates broader economic and tourism opportunities.

'Every new hotel provides opportunity — opportunity for growth for our associates, for growth for our owners, and for growth for tourism and for the customers that visit those incredible properties,' he said.

According to Marriott, the projects will introduce three iconic luxury brands to key destinations in South Asia and strengthen the group’s long-term commitment to the region.

'These properties will bring three iconic Marriott brands to important destinations across South Asia, further strengthening our shared commitment to luxury hospitality and long-term growth in this dynamic region,' Marriott stated.

Highlighting Nepal’s growing appeal as a global tourism destination, Marriott praised the country’s culture and natural beauty.

'It is especially meaningful to celebrate this moment here in Kathmandu, the home of CG Corp Global, and a city rich in history, culture, heritage, and hospitality,' he said.

'Nepal represents an exciting opportunity for Marriott International. Its natural beauty and growing travel infrastructure continue to attract visitors from around the world, and its beauty is truly unmatched.'

Marriott also credited the achievement to the long-standing partnership between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global.
