Kathmandu- Nepal welcomed a record 86,216 foreign tourists in May, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
This is a 95.6 cent surge compared to the month of May, 2024.
Likewise, it is a 110 percent recovery in comparison with the pre-pandemic arrivals in the month of May 2019.
Overall, international visitor arrivals reached 501,264 during the first five months of 2025.
Most visitors came from India, with a total of 28,160 Indian nationals in May, followed by the U.S. (9,074), China (8,824), and the U.K. (9,074). Despite the rise, tourist numbers from India and China remained relatively stable.
