India supports construction of school building in Kanchanpur

Kathmandu-The foundation stone for the construction of the Shree Maheshwar Secondary School building in Bheemdatt Municipality-10, Kanchanpur district, Sudurpaschim Province, was jointly laid today by Basist Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Nilam Lekhak Joshi, Deputy Chief of Bheemdatt Municipality.

The new school building is being constructed with financial assistance of approximately Rs 19 million from the Government of India. The project is being implemented as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) through Bheemdatt Municipality and marks the 11th HICDP supported by India in Kanchanpur district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief of Bheemdatt Municipality and other stakeholders expressed appreciation for the Government of India's continued development partnership. They noted that the new school infrastructure would provide a better learning environment for students and teachers while contributing to the overall improvement of educational facilities in the municipality.

As close neighbours, India and Nepal continue to deepen their cooperation across a wide range of sectors. The implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects reflects the Government of India's ongoing commitment to supporting the Government of Nepal's development priorities, promoting socio-economic growth, and strengthening infrastructure in key sectors across the country.
