Kathmandu-With the new cable car being constructed, the journey to Badimalika Temple, Sudurpaschim Province’s most sacred and scenic destination, will be convenient and shorter.

Spanning 12 kilometers, the project has secured an investment commitment of Rs 4.304 billion and advancing  with strong local backing. 

Businessman Arun Kumar Subedi, who holds major investment, has already registered Badimalika Cable Car Pvt. Ltd. with the Department of Industry. 

This isn't  his first venture into such projects—he previously involved in  a cable car project in Muktinath. The  pending Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)  approvals, however  slowed its progress. 

Amid this delay, he has piloted Badimalika Cable Car project, and remains optimistic with getting support  from both the local and provincial governments. 
'Along with sacred place, Badimalika is  is an an incredible tourist destination. That's the reason we' are committed to making this project a reality,' Subedi shared.

The cable car route stretching from Bamka Bazaar, across the Budhiganga River in Bajura district, will make a stop at Triveni Dham before reaching its final station, just 250 meters below the revered Badimalika Temple.

With completion, the cable care is aiming to attract around 2.5 million visitors to Badimalika every year.  Even the local government focusing on on developing tourism infrastructure.  For this, Badimalika Municipality has already drafted a master plan. 

'Badimalika has so much to offer beyond its religious significance. Our plan comprising tourism development with the area’s unique history, culture, and environment,' said Badimalika Municipality Mayor Amar Khadka.

Among the nine local levels in Bajura, Badimalika Municipality has taken the lead in identifying key tourist destinations and laying out a roadmap for infrastructure development.

Perched at an altitude of around 4,300 meters, Badimalika is one of the most breathtaking spots in Sudurpaschim Province. While it remains pristine  for most of the year, the temple becomes busy trail during Janai Purnima festival, alluring nearly 10,000 pilgrims. 

With the cable car comes into operation,  it is expected to be the year-round tourist destination and create a new economic opportunity.
