Kathmandu – In July, Nepal welcomed a total of 70,193 international tourists.

This number is 8.7 percent higher compared to the same month last year.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, compared to the pre-pandemic level of April 2019, Nepal achieved a 99 percent recovery in tourist arrivals in July 2025. This shows that the tourism sector, which had been stalled by COVID-19, is regaining its momentum.

In the first seven months of 2025, from January to July, a total of 647,882 international tourists arrived in Nepal, which is the highest post-pandemic figure for any year.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi, stated that this number demonstrates the revival of Nepal's tourism and its re-establishment as a popular destination globally.

Among the total arrivals in July, the highest number came from India, with 27,152 tourists accounting for 38.7 percent of the total. The second highest was from China with 6,890 tourists (9.8 percent), followed by the USA with 6,626 tourists (9.4 percent), Bangladesh with 4,413 tourists (6.3 percent), and the UK with 3,547 tourists (5.1 percent).

From a regional perspective, the highest number of tourists came from South Asian countries, totaling 33,787 (48.1 percent). Other Asian countries contributed 13,052 tourists (18.6 percent); Europe, 9,292 tourists (13.2 percent); the Americas, 12,775 tourists (11.1 percent); Oceania, 1,807 tourists (2.6 percent); the Middle East, 826 tourists (1.2 percent); Africa, 318 tourists (0.5 percent); and from other regions, 3,329 tourists (4.7 percent).

CEO Joshi said, 'Promotional programs under the Visit Nepal Decade, increased private sector investment, and diverse tourism products have recently contributed to attracting more tourists to Nepal.'
