77 multimillionaires tourist visit Nepal on National Geographic’s Private Boeing 757 tour

Kathmandu- A National Geographic-chartered Boeing 757 carrying 77 high-end tourists traveling the world, have arrived in Nepal. 

The package in Nepal, has managed by Yeti Holiday.

'Most of  the travelers are retired professionals over the age of 70. And the package costs approximately  USD 500 per day per tourist,' Hemanta Kolachepati, managing director of Yeti Holiday said. 

Kolachepati further informed that  the tourists  have visited major heritage sites in Nepal, including Pashupatinath, Bhaktapur, and Boudhanath.

The Boeing 757, which normally accommodates 195 passengers, was reconfigured entirely into a business-class layout, carrying only 77 passengers.

The tourists, who are on a tour of heritage sites in over a dozen countries, arrived in Nepal on April 4. They are scheduled to depart on April 7. They purchased the package for a period spanning March 28 to April 21.

Among South Asian destinations, they have chosen  Nepal, India and Bhutan for their destination. 

The aircraft was landed in  Kathmandu on April 4, and  scheduled to depart on April 7, according to  Jagannath Niraula, general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport confirmed.

The  tourists were accommodated at Dwarika’s Hotel in Kathmandu. Their itinerary included tours of Kathmandu Valley’s ancient cities, temples, and royal palaces, particularly in Bhaktapur.

Earlier, they have been traveled Bhutan. 

Kolachepati stressed the importance of attracting high-spending tourists to Nepal’s tourism industry, urging all stakeholders to focus on this segment.


Meanwhile,  Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, called it a positive sign for Nepal's tourism that National Geographic brought such high-end travelers. 
 
He noted that while wealthy tourists rarely visit Nepal, the fact that they arrived by chartered jet and explored the country’s ancient cities marks a promising development for the sector.

Amenities offered on the private chartered Boeing 757 include:

  • Customized 2x2 seating configuration
  • Comfortable VIP-style leather seats with adjustable footrests and headrests, reclining up to 45 degrees
  • Spacious cabin with large rooms and convenient storage for personal belongings
  • Sleek and attractive interior design
  • A team onboard comprising three pilots, a jet chef, a catering officer, multiple flight attendants, an engineer, and a baggage handler
  • A dedicated physician traveling with the group throughout the journey
  • In-seat power outlets and storage spaces for laptops, digital cameras, and other personal devices
