Kathmandu-Amid political instability, economic uncertainty, and challenges faced by the private sector due to recent unrest, the Chaudhary Group (CG) has attracted foreign investment to Nepal.

CG Foods, in collaboration with India’s renowned snacks brand Bikaji Foods International, laid the foundation stone of the Bikaji Snacks Factory at CG Industrial Park in Nawalparasi.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Chaudhary Group Managing Director Varun Chaudhary laid the foundation stone in the presence of local representatives, government officials, and senior company officials. CG Chairman Binod Chaudhary was also present.

Despite recent incidents, including arson and vandalism of CG Electronics and the private residence of Chairman Binod Chaudhary, the group’s managing director, Nirvan Chaudhary, has recently reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to Nepal and their new approach to economic development.

Around one and a half months after the incident, Chaudhary announced the group’s acquisition of a multinational company.

This factory, constructed in partnership with Bikaji, will manufacture popular snacks such as Bhujiya and Namkeen.

Both companies believe that this collaboration will significantly enhance Nepal’s food industry, reduce import dependency, and provide globally recognized products.

The initial phase of the investment will amount to Rs. 500 million and generate approximately 400 jobs.

Managing Director of the CG Corp Global Varun Chaudhary stated, 'At a time when Nepal’s economy requires new vitality, we are investing in a novel sector. This reaffirms our commitment to Nepal.'

Chaudhary expressed confidence that the investment will revitalize Nepal’s economy, create local employment opportunities, and foster industrial dynamism in rural areas such as Nawalparasi.
