Kathmandu-Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, along with his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, attended the Attestation Parade in Pokhara during their official visit to Nepal.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for 274 young Nepalis who successfully completed the rigorous selection process to join the Brigade of Gurkhas in the British Army.
Addressing the recruits, Prince Edward remarked, 'You are a soldier in the British Army but a son of Nepal; be proud of both!'
The royal couple also met with the families of the new recruits, acknowledging their support and sacrifices.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will remain in Nepal until February 9.
