Kathmandu-The Nepal–Germany partnership continues to move forward with a renewed commitment to sustainable development, climate resilience, and economic transformation.

Aligned closely with Nepal’s national development priorities, Germany has committed EUR 37.6 million in financial and technical assistance to support the country's development efforts over the next two years. This agreed cooperation framework focuses on translating shared commitments into practical, tangible results across several critical sectors.

In the energy sector, collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation will focus on strengthening the national grid and supporting climate-friendly energy systems and policies.

Health sector initiatives, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population, aim to strengthen access to quality healthcare, advance digitalization, expand health insurance, and directly support essential institutions like the Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital.

To foster sustainable economic development, the partnership will prioritize creating viable local opportunities for farmers, youth, women entrepreneurs, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Furthermore, the framework extends support to civil society organizations through GIZ Nepal to champion locally led development processes, social cohesion, human rights, and transitional justice.

Working in tandem with the Nepali government, civil society, the European Union, and other development partners, this successful dialogue marks the conclusion of a key milestone and opens a promising new chapter in Nepal–Germany cooperation.
