Helicopter Operation Resumes in Everest region

Kathmandu- Helicopter operators companies resumes their flights at the Everest region.  With the  Sagarmatha National Park (SNP) has permitted helicopter operations to resume with certain conditions, chopper operators cancelled the suspension of flights at the Khumbu region. 

Issuing the  notice recently, SNP stated that elicopter operations such as take-offs, landings, and hovering are allowed with prior park permission. Operators have been urged to avoid harming the park's forests, wildlife, and biodiversity.

This decision follows concerns raised by the Solukhumbu District Administration Office (DAO) over unauthorized restrictions on helicopter operations. Chief District Officer Anoj Kumar Ghimire emphasized that disruptions to flights had hindered disaster management, medical rescue. 

Earlier, the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) issued a statement announcing the immediate suspension of all flights to the area, citing escalating safety concerns.

 A local youth groups and organizations had opposed helicopter flights and landings within the national park. They argue that such activities threaten the safety of forests, the environment, and the habitat of wildlife.
