Kathmandu-The import continue to rise in recent months.
According to data from the Department of Customs, imports worth were recorded Rs 1.89 trillion during 11 months (mid-July to mid-June) of the current fiscal year 2025-26.
This is 15.16 percent higher than in the same period last year. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the goods worth Rs 1.64 trillion were imported.
Likewise, exports have also increased by 14.78 percent during the review period. The export worth Rs 277 billion were recorded in the 11-month period.
Foreign trade has been surged in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. Overall trade has grown to Rs 2.172 trillion during review period.
The trade deficit stood at Rs 1.613 trillion during the nine months. This is 15.67 percent higher than in the same period last year.
