Bhojpur –The Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality is developing the Mundum Trail into a spiritual and tourist destination.
Already recognized by the Federal Government as a top 100 tourist site, the municipality aims to establish Mundum Trial as a 'Tapobhumi' for yoga and meditation.
Rural Municipality Chairperson Saroj Basnet highlighted the trail's high alpine terrain offers potential for golf courses, adding road construction remains prohibited to preserve the environment.
Vice Chairperson Ramadevi Rai confirms a Tourism Information Centre at Chakhewa is already serving visitors, emphasizing a commitment to the region's holistic development.
The trail provides panoramic views of peaks including Charpate, Lhotse Shar, Mera Peak, Mt Peak 38, Chamlang, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Kumbhakarna.
Tourism entrepreneur Bibek Kulung1 highlights the moderate, year-round climate. Silichung Peak (4,153m), a revered spiritual site, is directly accessible from the trail.-RSS
