Kathmandu-On Thursday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded by 14.17 points to close at 2,726.72, snapping a brief one-day correction.

The benchmark index had dropped 13.95 points on Wednesday after a six-day winning streak, driven by investors booking profits following the recent market rally.

Despite the index increase, trading activity slowed as total turnover dropped to Rs 4.67 billion, down from Wednesday's Rs 5.18 billion

A total of 10.052 million shares were traded during the day.

The market witnessed broad-based selling, with 149 stocks advancing, 115 advancing and 12 remaining unchanged, reflecting mixed market breadth.

Most sectoral indices finished in the green, led by the Trading Index with a top gain of 2.58 percent. In contrast, the Others and Investment sectors were the only indices to end the day in negative territory.

Among individual stocks, Everest Colour Limited (ECL)  was the day’s top performer, surging 14.99 per cent to Rs 566.20. 

In terms of turnover, Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) topped the chart with transactions worth Rs 283.319 million.
