Kathmandu- A special event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was held in Moscow, bringing together representatives of both countries to reaffirm their longstanding friendship and cooperation.
The commemorative gathering was attended by the President of the Society for Friendship and Cooperation with Nepal (OSDN), Mikhail Nekrasov, OSDN Executive Secretary Boris Vershinin, President of the Alumni Association of Soviet and Russian Universities 'Mitra Kunj' Sushma Khatri, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, and members of the visiting Nepali delegation.
During the event, participants highlighted the enduring ties between Russia and Nepal, emphasizing the importance of strengthening people-to-people exchanges, educational collaboration, and cultural cooperation.
As part of the anniversary program, the Society for Friendship and Cooperation with Nepal (OSDN) hosted a Moscow River cruise aboard a Radisson riverboat for the Nepali delegation and invited guests. The cruise provided an opportunity for representatives of public organizations, members of the Nepali diaspora, and the Lalitpur delegation to interact in a warm atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
The celebration served as a significant milestone in the 70-year diplomatic relationship between Russia and Nepal, reflecting both countries' commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation and fostering stronger connections between their people.
