Partnership and Financials

The renewable infrastructure cost Rs 759,000 in total. This project launched through a joint partnership between Shuklaphanta Municipality, the Connect Project, and the non-profit Himali Prakriti.

Reliable Service Upgrades
Previously, frequent power outages disrupted guest stays. The new solar backup systems provide stable, round-the-clock electricity. Guests now enjoy uninterrupted access to essential amenities like lighting, fans, and mobile charging stations.

Eco-Tourism and Heritage
Located near Shuklaphanta National Park, these homestays attract domestic and foreign tourists with authentic Tharu cuisine, traditional dances, and cultural songs. Deputy Mayor Kalpana Panta noted that switching to solar energy advances sustainable tourism by cutting carbon emissions and protecting the local environment.
