Kathmandu-Authorities began demolishing structures today in the squatter settlement along the Bagmati riverbank in Thapathali, Kathmandu.
The move is part of a long-running effort to clear the disputed land.
As bulldozers arrived, residents started removing their belongings early in the morning. Officials insist the land must be cleared in accordance with the law, while residents demand proper resettlement before eviction.
Demolition is currently underway amid a heavy security presence.
