Kathmandu- In April 2025, Nepal welcomed a record 116,490 foreign tourists—the highest ever for that month—according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
Most visitors came from India (25,933), followed by the U.S. (10,053), China (9,037), and the U.K. (6,838). Despite the rise, tourist numbers from India and China remained relatively stable.
Compared to April 2019, tourist arrivals rose by 106.5 percent . That year, 109,399 tourists had visited Nepal in the same month.
In April 2024, the figure was 111,376; in 2023, it was 98,773.
'This growth shows strong recovery and rising global interest in Nepal,' the NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi said.
Joshi called the increase 'a testament to Nepal’s enduring appeal and vibrant tourism culture.'
From January to April 2025, Nepal received 415,048 tourists: 79,991 in January, 96,880 in February, and 121,800 in March.
