Kathmandu- The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, the Government of Nepal, Chiva Chaitya Organization, and the World Monuments Fund have announced the restoration of Yenga Hiti in Lagan, Kathmandu.
The work falls under the Hitis of Kathmandu Valley, a water heritage rehabilitation project.
The project has received $275,000 from the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation. The support will help restore at least three historic hitis.
It will also create hands-on education programs and set long term conservation plans.
The restoration aims to protect traditional water systems. The initiative helps preserve cultural and environmental heritage for future generations.
The embassy said AFCP projects in Nepal boost cultural preservation, support sustainable tourism, promote economic activity, and expand education partnerships between the two countries.
