Kathmandu- Nepali artists have participated in discussions about the growing role of artificial intelligence in the creative world.

During an interaction on 'AI in Fine Arts' organized by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Chancellor Naradamani Hartamchhali stated that using AI in fine arts is a timely and inevitable step.He suggested that the academy should create standards to officially recognize and identify AI-generated art.

Member-Secretary Devendra Kumar Kafle 'Thumkeli' added that embracing technology like AI can have positive outcomes if used correctly. He believes it can be a useful tool for creative artists.

 During the event, writer Ajay Sharma gave a presentation on the development and impact of AI in fine arts. Keshav Raj Khanal, President of the Society of Fine Arts Journalists, commented on the need to classify AI-generated art and to be aware of the potential future challenges of its widespread use.

Sauraganga Darshandhari, Head of NAFA's Department of Multidimensional and Other Creative Arts, emphasized that for AI to be meaningful, users must have proper guidance and a detailed understanding of the technology
