Bagmati and Gandaki Only Provinces Above National Per Capita GDP of $1,496: NSO

Kathmandu— The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released its province-level economic report, revealing that Nepal's national per capita gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to reach $1,496 in the current fiscal year 2024–25.

Among the seven provinces, only Bagmati and Gandaki are expected to surpass this national average. Bagmati Province leads with the highest per capita GDP at $2,601, reflecting its strong economic dominance. Gandaki Province follows with a per capita GDP of $1,620.

In contrast, the other five provinces fall below the national average. Koshi Province's per capita GDP is estimated at $1,401, Lumbini at $1,201, Sudurpaschim at $1,153, and Karnali at $1,089. Madhesh Province ranks at the bottom with a per capita GDP of just $932.
