Kalinchowk Hydropower Limited opens IPO for general public

Kathmandu-Kalinchowk Hydropower Limited has issued its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the general public starting today.

The company had previously completed the allotment of shares to locals of the affected areas and Nepalis working abroad. This marks the second phase of the IPO issuance.

Out of the company’s total issued capital of Rs 550 million, approval was granted to issue 1,375,000 shares, representing 25 percent of the total capital. Of these, 550,000 shares were already allocated to local residents, while 82,500 shares were distributed to Nepalis employed overseas.

From the shares designated for the general public, 41,250 shares have been reserved for collective investment funds and 16,500 shares for company employees. The remaining 684,750 shares are now available for public subscription.

Interested investors can apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 10,000 shares. The IPO will close on Chaitra 25 at the earliest. If the issue is not fully subscribed, the deadline may be extended until Baisakh 6, 2083.

CARE Rating Nepal has assigned the company a ‘CareNP Double B’ rating, indicating a moderate level of risk in meeting its financial obligations.

The issue is being managed by RBB Merchant Banking Limited. Investors can apply through the Mero Share app or via ASBA service-enabled banks and financial institutions.
