Kathmandu-Presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 at a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle announced a 50 percent tax exemption for companies and individuals exporting information technology services.
He said the information technology sector would be promoted as a new driver of economic growth and development.
Minister Wagle also announced plans to establish IT parks in major cities across the country as part of the government’s vision to develop Nepal into an “IT hub.”
In addition, he stated that high-speed internet services would be expanded throughout the country.
