Kathmandu-CG Net has launched its next-generation Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)-based 400 Mbps high-speed internet service in Nepal, targeting households with growing digital connectivity demands.

The company said the new service is designed to provide faster speeds, lower latency, and a more stable internet experience to support streaming, online gaming, remote work, online education, and smart home usage.

According to CG Net, the Wi-Fi 6 technology can theoretically deliver speeds of up to 9.6 Gbps while improving network efficiency. The company claims latency can be reduced to around 20 milliseconds, offering up to 50 percent better performance compared to previous-generation systems. The service also supports up to 128 connected devices per access point and enables up to 30 percent lower power consumption for compatible devices.

CG Net stated that the 400 Mbps plan is optimized for lag-free online gaming, simultaneous usage by multiple users and devices, uninterrupted multi-screen streaming, and stable smart home and IoT connectivity.

The service incorporates advanced technologies such as OFDMA, 1024-QAM, and 8x8 MU-MIMO to improve data transmission efficiency, device capacity, and network performance. Enhanced security protocols have also been included in the system.

The company has introduced several annual packages under the Wi-Fi 6 platform. The 400 Mbps internet-only package is priced at Rs 14,499. The package with a mesh router for customers outside Kathmandu Valley costs Rs 17,130, while the internet and IPTV bundle is available for Rs 16,276. Customers outside the Valley can also opt for the internet, IPTV, and mesh router package at Rs 18,907.

CG Net has also announced a 90-day full refund offer for new users subscribing to the 400 Mbps Wi-Fi 6 plan. The company said all taxes, deposits, and additional charges are included in the package prices, while Fair Usage Policy (FUP) provisions will apply.
