Kathmandu – The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court over irregularities in Nepal Telecom's billing system.
The CIAA has charged 18 people, including current Managing Director Sangita Pahadi and former Managing Director Sunil Paudel.
They are accused of extending billing system contracts against regulations, causing losses to the organization.
According to the investigation, Nepal Telecom signed a four-year annual maintenance contract with Asia Infos, despite earlier warnings from the CIAA.
The deal involved an unusually long contract period, high costs, and extra agreements.
