Kathmandu- Newly-appointed Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle assumed office today after taking the oath of office and secrecy at Sheetal Niwas.
Upon assuming his duties at Singhdurbar, Minister Wagle announced his immediate priorities, including preparing an 'Economic Status Report' as of mid-March 2026 and formulating 100-day, semi-annual, and annual plans to implement election promises.
He also pledged to repeal 15 laws, including those related to the Department of Revenue Investigation, following recommendations from the 2024 High-Level Economic Reform Recommendation Commission.
In addition, Wagle said his ministry would prioritize new bills or amendments aimed at protecting and promoting private enterprises and facilitating large development projects, while developing a comprehensive roadmap for economic and legal reforms.
