Govt bans vehicle movement in and out of Kathmandu for three days

Kathmandu-The government has banned vehicles from entering and leaving the Kathmandu Valley for three days due to continuous rainfall across the country.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) announced that highways connecting the Valley have been completely closed, citing risks posed by the ongoing light to heavy rains.

In its statement, the authority said long-distance vehicles, as well as those entering or exiting the Valley, will remain suspended during this period.

It has instructed the District Administration Offices to regulate vehicle and traffic management accordingly.

The government stated that the decision was taken to minimize potential risks.

Meanwhile, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged people to remain cautious, warning of a high risk of heavy rainfall in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
