Kathmandu- The foundation stone for a new hospital building in Ward No. 5 of Nason Rural Municipality in Manang District, Gandaki Province, was jointly laid on  May 28 by Dr. Rakesh Pandey and Dhan Bahadur Gurung.

The hospital building is being constructed with financial assistance of approximately  Rs 56 million from the Government of India under a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). The project will be implemented through Nason Rural Municipality.

According to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, the new healthcare facility is expected to enhance access to medical services for residents of Nason Rural Municipality and surrounding areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Gurung and other local stakeholders expressed appreciation for India's continued developmental support. They voiced confidence that the hospital would contribute significantly to improving healthcare delivery and the overall well-being of the local community.

The Embassy stated that the project reflects the close development partnership between India and Nepal. As neighboring countries, the two nations continue to cooperate across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, and community development.

The Government of India stated that the implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects demonstrates its continued support for Nepal's efforts to promote growth and development while strengthening infrastructure in priority sectors across the country.
