Kathmandu – Traffic along the Muglin–Narayanghat road has resumed after a landslide at Tui Khola was cleared. The Department of Roads mobilized heavy machinery and technical teams to complete the work swiftly.

The reopening has eased travel between the capital and the Terai, facilitating passenger movement and goods transport, especially during the Dashain festival.

According to the department, monitoring and safety measures are in place to manage traffic in risky areas. It expressed confidence that vehicles can now operate more smoothly along the frequently obstructed stretch.

The Bharatpur Road Division said clearance began Thursday morning, with 60 percent completed by 2:30 p.m. The road was to reopen by night.

The narrow terrain at Tui Khola limited operations. An excavator and a loader worked from the Narayanghat side, and two loaders and an excavator from the Muglin side, with backhoe loaders stationed on both ends.

Large boulders on the Narayanghat side and sharp rocks that punctured tires and endangered operators slowed progress. Two additional operators were later deployed from Hetauda and Dumre.

The department said it will continue monitoring vulnerable areas and enforcing safety measures to ensure traffic remains smooth.
