Kathmandu– Services related to Nepal's National Identity Card have been partially disrupted since Sunday due to ongoing maintenance and capacity enhancement work on the Department of National Identity Card and Civil Registration's Management Information System (MIS).
According to Shivaraj Sedhain, Information Officer for the Department, technical teams are actively working on the system. The affected services include online registration for national ID cards, national ID card distribution, correction of information, and online registration and renewal for social security allowance recipients.
Other services integrated into the MIS are also experiencing disruptions.
The Department has issued a public notice stating that full services will resume immediately upon completion of the maintenance work. In the interim, the Department is urging national ID card service recipients to submit their details and collect their cards offline as an alternative.
