Kathmandu- In the first ten months of the current fiscal year, goods worth Rs 1.478 trillion were imported.
Compared to the same period last year, imports have increased by 13.11 percent, rising from Rs 1.33 trillion.
While the import growth rate had been negative for the past two years, it has shown a consistent upward trend over the last four months.
This increase is primarily attributed to the import of raw materials for soybean oil processing and subsequent exports.
Exports have also seen a significant rise, increasing by 72.71 percent. In the review period, Rs 217 billion worth of goods were exported, compared to Rs 126 billion during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the trade deficit stood at Rs 1.256 trillion.
In same period of last year, the trade deficit recorded Rs 1.177 trillion.
