Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchnage ( NEPSE) index fell by 13.17 points to close at 2,825.23 on the first trading day of the week.
The Sensitive Index declined by 0.67 percent. The Sensitive Float Index dropped by 0.62 percent, while the Float Index decreased by 0.76 percent.
A total of 1,653,370 shares of 349 companies were traded in 116,310 transactions. The total turnover stood at Rs 5.43 billion.
Following a new trading rule introduced by NEPSE from today, shares of Suryakunda Hydropower, Hotel Forest Inn, Palpa Cement Industries, and Shikhar Power Development rose by 15 percent.
In terms of turnover, Hotel Forest Inn recorded the highest, with transactions worth Rs 361 million.
Among the 13 subgroups, 12 posted losses, while only one recorded gains. The hotel and tourism subgroup rose by 1.01 percent.
