NEPSE dips 4.18 points

Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE)  index declined by 4.18 points on the first trading day of the week, closing at 2,833.60.

The sensitive index rose by 0.31 percent, the sensitive float index by 0.20 percent, and the float index by 0.25 percent.

A total of 20,163,793 shares of 342 companies were traded 101,180 times, generating a turnover of Rs 8.66 billion.

In the previous week, the NEPSE index had gained 69 points over six trading days.

Shares of Super Khudi Hydropower, Suryakund Hydro, Hotel Forest Inn, Palpa Cement Industries, Ridge Line Energy, and Suryakund Hydroelectric were traded at the positive circuit level.

Based on turnover, National Hydropower Company recorded the highest transaction value of Rs 931.9 million.

Out of 13 subgroups, 6 recorded gains while 7 declined. The hotel and tourism subgroup posted the highest gain of 1.02 percent.

Hydropower rose by 0.66 percent, investment by 0.13 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.40 percent, and non-life insurance by 0.46 percent.

Banking declined by 0.47 percent, development banks by 0.55 percent, finance by 0.29 percent, life insurance by 0.46 percent, microfinance by 0.42 percent, others by 1.62 percent, and trading by 0.21 percent.
