Kathmandu-On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 30.60 points to close at 2,570.18 on Monday, compared to the previous trading session. In the previous session, the benchmark had fallen by 1.13 points.
A total of 22 companies posted gains in their share prices, while the share prices of 249 companies declined.
During the day’s trading, 41.725 million shares of 368 companies were traded through 51,295 transactions.
The total daily turnover stood at Rs 7.468 billion, up from Rs 6.86 billion recorded in the previous trading session.
Shares of Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited recorded the highest gain of the day, rising 5.37 per cent. Meanwhile,Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited posted the steepest decline, with its share price falling 11.28 per cent.
In terms of trading value, NMB Debenture 8.50% - 2087/88 topped the list, with debt securities worth Rs 484.654 million changing hands.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, all index ended in negative territory.
The Trading sub-index recorded the biggest loss of the day, falling by 2.30 per cent.
