Kathmandu-On the third trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 4.15 points compared to the previous trading session, closing at 2,740.25 points. In the previous session, the benchmark index had dropped by 39.44 points to close at 2,744.40.
A total of 5.64 million shares of 339 companies were traded 42,176 times during the day’s session, generating a turnover of Rs 2.80 billion.
Among the traded companies, Asian Hydropower Limited recorded the highest gain of 11.42 percent. In terms of transaction value, SY Panel Nepal Limited posted the highest turnover, with shares worth Rs 277.9 million traded.
Out of the 13 sub-indices, only two posted gains while 11 declined during the day. Except for the mutual fund subgroup, all other sectors closed lower. The trading subgroup recorded the highest gain of 1.50 percent.
Similarly, the banking subgroup fell by 0.24 percent, development banks by 0.19 percent, finance by 0.36 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.42 percent, hydropower by 0.12 percent, investment by 0.22 percent, life insurance by 0.50 percent, microfinance by 0.52 percent, non-life insurance by 0.61 percent, and others by 0.30 percent.
