Kathmandu- Nepal received its highest-ever monthly remittance inflow in mid-March to mid-April.
Remittance worth Rs 209.75 billion was recorded during review month , marking the largest single-month inflow to date. In the same period of the previous year, such inflows were Rs. 139.54 billion.
During the nine months of 2025-26, remittance inflows increased 39.1 percent to Rs.1.65 trillion in the nine months of 2025-26 compared to an increase of 10.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.
Previously, the highest remittance in a single month was recorded in Ashoj ( mid-September to mid-October), with Rs 201.22 billion.
With this inflow, Nepal continues to rank among the world’s top 10 countries with the highest remittance-to-GDP ratio.
Remittances have also strengthened the country’s foreign exchange reserves, which have now surpassed $ 23.55 billion.
