Kathmandu- A new era in international finance has begun with the launch of the Borderless Banking Service, with collaboration between U.S.-based fintech Xuno and Nepal's Siddhartha Bank.
This first-of-its-kind service directly connects American and Nepali banks, revolutionizing how Nepalis in the United States manage their finances and support their families back home.
The service, which was officially launched on Tuesday, was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Thompson, who lauded the partnership as a testament to American leadership in financial innovation and a significant step in strengthening the economic ties between the United States and Nepal.
'This partnership is making digital banking truly borderless,' Ambassador Thompson stated at the event. He praised both companies for creating a service that allows Nepalis in the U.S. to open bank accounts in their home country without the need for travel, while also providing safer and more affordable options for remittances.
