These last few days have been among the most painful in our company's history. What began as a movement of young people (Gen-Z) demanding accountability and change-a cause that carried good intent-was infiltrated and twisted by hooligans and external forces.
What should have been a peaceful call for a better Nepal was instead turned into violence, looting, and destruction.We witnessed acts of shocking cruelty: our chairman was personally targeted, our family homes attacked and burnt, our factories and offices were damaged, and our showrooms were looted.
Decades of work, sacrifice, and commitment-reduced to flames in a matter of hours. It was not just an attack on property but an attack on hope, on trust, and on the very idea of building something meaningful for our nation.
And yet, in these darkest hours, something extraordinary happened.
From within the flames and the chaos, the true spirit of CG emerged. I have read reports and heard stories of our leaders, managers, and employees who risked their safety-working day and night, salvaging what they could, protecting our assets, and most importantly, keeping CG's promise to our customers alive.
Even as fire raged, our people did not give up.To each of you who stood firm when everything around you was falling apart-I salute you. You have shown the world what CG truly is: not just a company, but a family bound by resilience, loyalty, and courage.
You are the reason that in spite of devastation, our customers were not abandoned. You are the reason that hope remains alive. And when the time is right, we will come together to recognize and celebrate your service, your sacrifice, and your strength.Yes, we are hurt. Yes, we are shaken. But we are not broken. Our miscreants may burn our buildings, but they cannot burn our dreams.
They may loot our showrooms, but they cannot loot our values. They may attempt to weaken us, but they cannot break the unity of our family. We must also remember who we are. Chaudhary Group is Nepal's largest taxpayer, one of its largest employers, and a nation-builder.
At every crisis-whether earthquake, flood, or pandemic-we have stood at the frontline for our people. That mission is not finished. That responsibility is not shaken. That purpose is not lost.We will rebuild. We will recover. And we will rise stronger than ever before. Out of this tragedy will come renewal-new strength, new ideas, new systems, and an even deeper commitment to the people of Nepal.
History will not remember the flames that consumed us. History will remember how we came out of them stronger, prouder, and more united than ever.To every member of the CG family: thank you. You are the heart of this institution.
