Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 6.31 points on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week, closing at 2,705.45 points. In the previous trading session, the benchmark index had fallen by 12.26 points.
A total of 107,808,596 shares of 355 listed companies were traded through 48,116 transactions during the day. The total turnover stood at Rs 4.04 billion, up from Rs 3.41 billion recorded in the previous session.
Shares of Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited and Apollo Hydropower Limited hit the positive circuit limit during the day’s trading.
In terms of turnover, Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Limited led the market with shares worth Rs 319.9 million traded.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, 11 closed in negative territory, while two posted gains. The trading and mutual fund sub-indices recorded marginal increase.
