NEPSE index jumps by 27.19 points

Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday,  witnessed a significant increase as  the country’s sole secondary market soared by 27.19 points,  ultimately settling at 2,708.70.

This increment movement was accompanied by impressive trading activity, where 35.574 million shares from 326 companies were exchanged, generating a total turnover of Rs 11.582 billion.

Likewise, the sensitive index, which tracks the performance of Class ‘A’ stocks,  increased by nearly one percent, and the float index, representing actively traded shares, saw a 1.11 percent dip.

Except trading sector, all sub-indices ending the session in positive territory.

 A notable highlight of the day was the exceptional performance of a few specific entities. Four companies—Kalinchowk Darshan Limited, Super Mai Hydropower Limited, , and Modi Energy saw  their share prices hit the upper circuit, surging by the maximum daily limit of 10 percent.

Investors remain cautious yet expectant as the market continues its quest to reclaim historic peaks. While the index briefly crossed the 3,000-point threshold in August of both last year and earlier this month, it has since retreated, leaving the all-time high of 3,199.03 points—set on September 2, 2021—as the ultimate benchmark for the current market recovery.
