Kathmandu-The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has projected an 11 percent credit expansion for the upcoming fiscal year, anticipating no significant acceleration in credit demand.
Announcing the new monetary policy, the central bank estimated that private sector credit growth will hover around 11 percent.
This comes on the heels of a sluggish current fiscal year; despite an initial target of 12 percent, actual credit expansion was limited to just 6.5 percent over the first 10 months.
Additionally, the NRB has set a target to contain consumer price inflation within a 5.5 percent threshold for the next fiscal year.
