Kathmandu-Agricultural Development Bank Limited’s (ADBL) net profit in the first six months of the current fiscal year was Rs 707.4 million, a 26 percent decline from Rs 957.5 million in mid-January of the previous year.
Despite this, the bank’s income increased. Net interest income rose from Rs 3.8767 billion to Rs 4.5181 billion, net fee and commission income from Rs 617.4 million to Rs 624.1 million, and total operating income from Rs 4.8688 billion to Rs 5.2211 billion.
However, operating profit sharply declined from Rs 1.3477 billion to Rs 100.92 million. Earnings per share fell from Rs 11.47 to Rs 9.89, non-performing loans declined from 4.90 percent to 4.65 percent, net worth per share stood at Rs 224.37, and distributable profit amounted to Rs 719.8 million.
The bank has a paid-up capital of Rs 19.73 billion, a general reserve of Rs 720 million, and other reserves of Rs 17.07 billion. It extended loans worth Rs 218.27 billion and collected deposits totaling Rs 323.44 billion.
