NEPSE declines for seventh consecutive trading day

Kathmandu – The  Nepal Stock (NEPSE ) index declined by 24.63 points on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week, closing at 2,608.33 points. In the previous trading session, the benchmark index had also fallen by 16.54 points.

 

Share prices of 35 companies advanced during the session, while 235 companies recorded declines. A total of 8,737,392 shares of 365 companies were traded through 79,208 transactions.

 

The day’s total turnover stood at Rs 3.25 billion, up from Rs 2.67 billion recorded in the previous session.

 

Shares of Snow Rivers Limited hit the positive circuit limit during the day’s trading. In terms of turnover, Siddhartha Bank Limited topped the list, with shares worth Rs 133.9 million changing hands.

 

All 13 sectoral indices ended the session in the red. The Trading sub-index posted the steepest decline, falling 1.74 percent.

Sector-wise, the Banking index declined by 0.73 percent, Development Bank by 0.01 percent, Finance by 1.00 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.93 percent, Hydropower by 1.43 percent, Investment by 0.74 percent, Life Insurance by 0.56 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 1.20 percent, Microfinance by 0.56 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 0.61 percent, Others by 1.31 percent, and Trading by 1.74 percent.
