NEPSE dips by 71.05 points following high-profile legal action

Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock  Exchange  (NEPSE)  has experienced significant volatility following major political shifts in the country.

The NEPSE opened under heavy pressure today as investors are reacting to the formation of a new government and high-profile legal actions involving former Prime Minister KP Oli , alongside a new 100-point government action plan focusing on asset investigations.

The NEPSE  index saw a sharp decline of 71.05 points to 2,879.11. As result, the share prices of  255 companies declining, while  only 10 showing gains ,and one  company remained  unchanged. The jump in turnover from Rs 13.162 billion on Thursday (the last trading day of the previous week) to Rs 15.033 billion this Sunday—reflects a significant increase in market participation, even if it's fueled by selling pressure.

Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills Limited, Super Khudi Hydropower Limited, and  Ridge Line Energy  hit the positive circuit limit.

Ridi Power Company Limited led in turnover with Rs 711.173, million worth of shares traded, followed by Ngadi Group Power Ltd with Rs 522.863, million.

Likewise, all 13 sub-indices ending in the red, where finance sector recorded the highest dip at 3.37 percent. 

The market insiders are believing that  market is experiencing a healthy correction or consolidation rather than a reversal of the bull trend, with many anticipating a 'high increase' or a breakout above the  its all-time high of 3,199.03 points, recorded on September 2, 2021
