Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 42.58 points on the third trading day of the week and closed at 2,726.58.
Shares of 333 companies were traded. A total of 30.26 million shares changed hands. Total turnover reached Rs 14.16 billion.
The Sensitive Index dropped by 1.56 percent. The Sensitive Float Index declined by 1.62 percent. The Float Index fell by 1.63 percent.
Saptakoshi Development Bank posted the highest gain, up 8.56 percent. Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals recorded the biggest loss, down 6.93 percent.
Radhi Bidyut Company led turnover with Rs 578.5 million worth of shares traded. SY Panel Nepal recorded over Rs 575 million in transactions. Ankhu Khola Hydropower’s turnover crossed Rs 510 million.
Out of 13 sub indices, 12 declined and one remained unchanged. The Finance sub index fell the most, down 2.44 percent.
The market opened for four trading days last week. The index rose on three days and fell on one. Overall, NEPSE gained 73.18 points and closed at 2,714.61.
Investors continue to wait for the index to cross its all time high of 3,199.03 points set on September 2, 2021. The market touched 3,000.81 points on August 31 last year and 3,002.08 points on August 13 before retreating.
