Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its downward trend on Friday, slipping by 2.00 points (0.07 percent) to close at 2,649.51.
Despite mild selling pressure throughout the trading session, market activity improved significantly, with daily turnover rising to Rs 3.94 billion. More than 7.72 million shares were traded during the day.
Market breadth remained bearish, with 170 stocks declining, 85 advancing, and 20 remaining unchanged.
Shares of Snow Rivers Limited emerged as the top gainer, surging 15 percent to close at Rs 343.50.
Global IME Bank Limited Debenture 2086/87 recorded the highest turnover of the day at Rs 331.657 million.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, five closed in positive territory. The Trading Index posted the strongest performance, gaining 1.08 percent.
