NEPSE falls 30.09 points

Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 30.09 points on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, to close at 2,621.59 points. In the previous trading session, the benchmark index had gained 24.57 points to settle at 2,651.68.

Share prices of 62 listed companies increased, while 286 companies posted losses. A total of 8.46 million shares of 362 companies were traded through 77,627 transactions during the day.

The total turnover reached Rs 4.83 billion, up from Rs 4.40 billion recorded in the previous session.

NMB Debenture recorded the highest gain of the day, rising by 5 per cent. Corporate Development Bank Limited suffered the steepest decline, with its share price falling by 13.41 per cent.

In terms of turnover, 11% KBL Debenture 2089 was the most actively traded security, with transactions worth Rs 623.9 million.

Among the 13 sectoral indices, only the Mutual Fund sub index ended in positive territory, while the remaining 12 sectors declined.

The Hydropower sub index recorded the biggest loss of the day, falling by 1.70 per cent. The Banking, Development Bank, Finance, Hotels and Tourism, Manufacturing and Processing, Non Life Insurance, and Others sub indices also declined by more than 1 per cent.
