Kathmandu- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index sees a drop of 8.50 points on Thursday, closing the session at 2,651.52 points as sellers maintained control throughout most of the afternoon.
The market is strongly negative, with 172 stocks declining compared to only 83 gainers, while 19 remained unchanged.
The market opened steady but witnessed continuous downward pressure after 1:45 PM, sliding from its intraday peak toward its closing lows.
The market turnover stood at Rs 2. 838 billion during the session. A total of 6,480,599 shares exchanged hands across the exchange floors.
Stocks like Taksar Pikhuwa Khola Hydropower Limited and Yambaling Hydropower Limitedare recorded with a 14.99 percent gain, bringing their close price to Rs 524.60.
Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited leads with a turnover of Rs 127.725 million.
Manufacturing and processing is the only listed sector shown in green among 13 sub-indices groups. The Trading Index is highlighted with a notable decrease of 1.96 percent.
