Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 8.78 points on Thursday, closing at 2,661.71.
The total market turnover stood at Rs. 4.11 billion, with a total of 8,964,221 shares traded during the day.
Among the traded companies, 180 advanced, 152 declined, and 13 remained unchanged, reflecting a broadly positive market sentiment.
Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Limited and Kalanga Hydro Limited emerged as the day's top gainers, with both stocks hitting the 15.00 percent upper circuit.
Meanwhile, Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited recorded the highest turnover, with transactions exceeding Rs. 413 million.
Sector-wise, eight sub-indices ended in positive territory, while five posted losses. The Banking sub-index led the gains, rising 2.04 percent. In contrast, the Manufacturing and Processing sub-index was the biggest loser of the day, declining 0.86 percent.
