Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined for another session, dropping 14.45 points or 0.54 percent to close at 2,660.02 points on Wednesday. 

The NEPSE index continued its downward momentum from the previous day, briefly sliding below the 2,640 mark during intraday trading before paring some losses.

Selling pressure remained dominant across the board, resulting in a bearish ratio where 202 stocks declined while only 62 managed to advance.

Despite the downward slide, trading activity remained robust, generating a total market turnover of Rs. 4.41 billion with more than 10.77 million shares exchanging hands.

Stocks like Taksar Pikhuwa Khola Hydropower Limited and Yambaling Hydropower Limitedare  recorded  with a 15 percent gain, bringing their close price to Rs  456.20

Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Ltd leads with a turnover of Rs 296. 233million, while Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited follows with Rs 172.271 million.

Trading and Finance index are  the only listed sector shown in green among 13 sub-indices groups. The Manufacturing and Processing Index is highlighted with a notable decrease of 1.10 percent.
