NEPSE index sees loss of 26.07 points

Kathmandu-The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index on Monday, dropped by 26.07 points to close at 2,798.83.

Likewise, the daily turnover also declined to Rs 11.974 billion, down from Rs 14.329 billion on  Sunday.

Among other indices, the Sensitive Index declined by 1.31 points, while the Float Index  decreased by 1.06 points, and the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 1.26 points.

The shares of  four companies: Salapa Bikas Bank Limited, Reliance Spinning Mills Limited, Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited, Solu Hydropower Limited have hit the positive circuit level. 

On the other hand, the Siddhartha Equity Fund became top loser company, where its share prices dropped by 4.39 percent. 

Based on trading volume, shares of the Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Ltd recorded the highest  transactions worth Rs 687.724million.

Out of the 13 trading subgroups, only one manufacturing and processing recorded  gain, while  rest of subgroup decreased. 

Meanwhile, recent election results have provided fresh momentum to the stock market, which had remained relatively stable for a long period. Investors appear optimistic, as the strong mandate received by new political forces—seen as alternatives to traditional parties—has raised expectations of economic reforms, improved governance, and structural changes in the country’s economy.
